This year, one of flamenco’s biggest names will be centre stage at the FMA. The great guitarist Juan Carmona will take audiences on a deep dive into Spanish history and music, conjuring an intoxicating dream of Andalusia in this unique performance.
Inspired by the life story of Zyriab, a towering figure in the history of Arab‑Andalusian and nubah music, Carmona will explore the many musical influences that the gifted poet and musician absorbed during his travels through Andalusia. From Baghdad to Cordoba, you will be transported into the world of this nomadic artist, who discovered in Andalusia a beloved and eternal muse.
Born into a family who emigrated to France after being exiled from North Africa, Juan Carmona developed a passion for the guitar at an early age, his virtuosity quickly blossoming.
