Cairokee is an Egyptian rock band that officially launched in 2003, gaining prominence with their revolutionary music after the Egyptian Revolution of 2011. Known for their politically-inspired lyrics and protest songs, they initially performed as Black Star, covering English songs with one Egyptian track, "Ghariba," which was well-received by audiences. They later transitioned to creating Egyptian songs, feeling it was more authentic to their roots. Their music is mainly influenced by Pink Floyd and The Beatles.
