The battle, a fundamental dance event in hip-hop culture, brings together street dance artists in an atmosphere of exchange, confrontation and adrenalin.

Improvising in real time, B-Girls and B-Boys from all over the world take turns challenging each other with daring creativity, following the rules of the JOAT game. A master of ceremonies and a DJ animate this supercharged evening.

JOAT Festival international de street dance is an annual event that offers a week of festivities, activities and performances in Montreal - at Place des Arts and in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles. On the program: high level battles, breaking, popping, Hip Hop, Krump, beatmakers, kidz battle, street dance initiation workshops, master classes, exhibition! An opportunity for the public from all backgrounds to discover some of the Afro-American vernacular dances that have become popular around the world.
