The tenor, composer and musicologist, (Maliseet) member of the Tobique First Nation, won the 2018 Polaris Prize for his debut album, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, taking recordings of ancient songs in the language of his ancestors and infusing them with his post-classical aesthetic. A daring gamble, one that fully pays off.
