Chiaroscuro 2026-2027 season I Musici of Montreal Orchestra

If there is one art form that allows us to explore the shadows and light within us, it is surely music. For its 43rd season, the musicians of I Musici de Montréal turn their attention to these inner contrasts through unexpected pairings of works and immersive concerts built around powerful themes. The ensemble offers a vision of chamber music that is vibrant, contemporary, and deeply human. The creation of two original works throughout the season reflects the orchestra’s commitment to amplifying the voices of today.

The presence of several visionary artistic collaborators also supports the collective shift embraced by the ensemble. From Métis musician and composer Dylan Pinette to contralto and composer Rose Naggar-Tremblay, from Mandingue tradition musician Aboulaye Koné to violinist Marie Bégin, this season brings different traditions, sensibilities, and human realities into dialogue.

Also featured this season are two choral concerts: one with the Schulich Chamber Choir for the reopening of Pollack Hall, and another with Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal for our traditional Christmas concert.

Conceived as an arc stretching from daybreak to nightfall, this season journeys from light into darkness, extending a hand toward others and illuminating what connects us all.
