On May 4, let yourself be swept away on a poetic journey inspired by water and discover how its many forms have fueled the imagination of composers from both sides of Lake Champlain. Life-giving water, water that strikes and erodes, the original matrix, humanity’s eternal companion—its multifaceted nature is explored through works bursting with beauty, fluidity, and emotion.
Under the inspired direction of Tiphaine Legrand and accompanied by pianist Anthony Lampron, our choristers will transport you to a world where water reveals its profound symbolic and musical richness.
Like a musical current crossing borders, this concert features the American composers Samuel Barber, Morten Lauridsen, and Glenn McClure, alongside the Canadiens Marie-Claire Saindon and Andrew Staniland.
✨ Highlights: The world premiere of Sister Water by Glenn McClure, along with his Canadian premiere of The Wind and Rain, two remarkable pieces born from a unique collaboration between art and science.
