We are pleased to invite you to the event Chanter Riopelle au-delà des mots which will take place on June 12, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Maison du Citoyen.

This event is the fruit of a cultural mediation project initiated by the Chœur classique de l'Outaouais, in partnership with Ms. Marie-Pierre Caron's reception class at the Lac-des-Fées school and the Galerie Montcalm.  

In a few words, Chanter Riopelle au-delà des mots is the meeting of a composer (François-Hugues Leclair), two musicians, the Chœur classique de l'Outaouais and students from a welcoming class, all of whom are involved in the creation of a wordless choral work inspired by Chevreuse, one of Riopelle's paintings, 

We took advantage of the centenary of Riopelle's birth to meet newcomers and open a door on the work of this great Quebec artist whose privileged themes, nature and migration, provided, by their universality, a wonderful ground for sharing and creation.  

Program: 

5:30 p.m.,Jean-Despréz Hall : performance of the choral piece Chevreuse by composer François-Hugues Leclair by the students of the reception class and the Choir

6 to 7 p.m., Agora : guided tours of the exhibition Empreintes at the Galerie Montcalm and discussion over a snack

This event is free, as is indoor parking at Maison du citoyen, accessible from Hôtel-de-Ville Street, near the corner of Laurier Street (see map) 

So on June 12, let’s meet at the Maison du citoyen!
