Francophone music is hitting the road and making a stop in Calgary!

Founded in Montreal in 1987, Coup de cœur francophone is a festival dedicated to discovering and showcasing the many expressions of francophone music. Every November, the festival takes place in Montreal as well as in nearly 45 cities across Canada, bringing together artists from the national and international music scenes through a program focused on emerging talent, boldness and creativity.

In Calgary, this celebration of francophone music continues with Damien Robitaille, with Meera Sylvain opening the evening.

A singer-songwriter known for his humour, infectious energy and irresistibly clever songs, Damien Robitaille has become one of the most beloved figures in Canadian francophone music.

On stage, he delivers a generous, joyful and highly engaging performance where music and humour come together. Every song is an invitation to sing along, smile and celebrate the richness of francophone music.

The evening will begin with Meera Sylvain, who will introduce audiences to her musical universe and bring a fresh voice to the francophone music scene.

Her performance perfectly reflects the spirit of Coup de cœur francophone: discovering the artists of today and tomorrow and creating meaningful connections between audiences and francophone creators.

A Pan-Canadian Journey

In 1995, Coup de cœur francophone launched its travelling festival initiative through the creation of the Pan-Canadian Network, which today brings together ten active partners at the heart of francophone communities across the country.

Spanning six time zones, the network presents approximately 200 shows each year, from the Atlantic to the Pacific. It provides a platform for francophone creativity and helps artists—many of whom come from francophone minority communities—connect with audiences across Canada.

The network also gives communities access to diverse programming that embraces new voices, emerging artists and the latest trends in francophone music.

Coup de cœur francophone is much more than a festival: it is a great journey through francophone music. It brings artists and audiences together, helps music travel across borders and celebrates the incredible diversity and vitality of francophone creativity throughout Canada.

And this year, Calgary is part of the journey!
