The Bureau de la vie étudiante invites you to take part in an extraordinary spectacle: the migration of the snow geese.
The Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area is known for the spectacular sight of huge flocks of migrating geese in the spring and in the fall. It is also an exceptional place for the diversity of natural environments and species. It encompasses 24 km2 of marshes, wetlands, plains and forests. Every day in October, 15 000 to 30 000 geese make a stop in this area. Come and watch them!
The day we're proposing has two components:
Goose-watching along the banks of the St. Lawrence at the observation point and on the Bois-Sent-Bon trail. Self-guided hikes along the Cap Tourmente hiking trails. A total of nearly 30 km of trails.Website: Cap Tourmente
When: Saturday October 12, 2024. Departure at 9 a.m. between the Ernest-Lemieux and Alphonse-Desjardins pavilions. Departure from the site at 4:00 p.m. and return to Université Laval around 5 p.m.
Cost: $24, including transportation, access to the site and to the hiking trails. Ticket only valid on departure from Université Laval.
Meals: No food service is available on site, it is essential to bring your cold lunch. You can eat your lunch inside or outside.
Clothing: This activity takes place outdoors. It is therefore strongly recommended that you wear clothing appropriate for all types of weather and good walking shoes.
Registration: Online ticket purchase only (credit card) before Tuesday October 8, 2024 at 11:45 pm. Limited seating: first come, first served!
Non-refundable ticket. If you cannot come, you may transfer your ticket to someone else.

Bad weather: In the event that the site is closed due to very bad weather conditions, you will be notified of the cancellation or postponement of the activity by email and will be reimbursed if applicable.
