Get the chance to witness a total solar eclipse!

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

"Observing a total solar eclipse on your own is all very well, but to experience in unison the moment when the sky darkens as if it were night, when the temperature drops by 10 to 15 degrees, when the birds stop singing, when the stars appear in the sky in broad daylight, and to marvel at it together, is an unforgettable experience," points out Maxime Royer, a doctoral student in astrophysics at Université Laval.

The solar eclipse will be total only in Saint-Georges de Beauce. Since this location is inaccessible by public transit, the Bureau de la vie étudiante is offering you the opportunity to live this unique experience!

Price: $20 The fee includes transportation and the assurance of getting a pair of glasses for safe viewing of the eclipse.

Cancellation or refund: Tickets are non-refundable, but can be transferred to other students. The event may be cancelled if the number of registrations is insufficient.

Clothing: During the eclipse, the temperature will drop several degrees. In addition, given the number of people attending the event (a potential 12,000), we will need to remain on site between 11am and 4:30pm (departure from ULaval at 10am and return at 5:30pm) and will have blankets to sit on on the ground. Please dress accordingly. Warm, waterproof clothing.

Meals: If you expect to eat on site, please bring a cold lunch. Restaurants will be available nearby, but may be crowded. Bring your own water bottles.

Weather: In the event of rain, snow or excessive cloud cover, the activity may be cancelled. We'll keep you informed.
