Trekking in the Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier

The Bureau de la vie étudiante invites you to an outdoor day in the Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier. This national park, located 40 km north of Québec City, has over 100 km of trails along the Jacques-Cartier River and in the surrounding mountains. This is a unique occasion to enjoy a day in the great Canadian outdoor and to admire the colors of autumn, which are extraordinary from the heights of the Laurentians.

The activity consists of free trekking in the park. A bus will drop you off and pick you from the kilometer 10 mark. You will have access to the following trails: L’Aperçu, Les Cascades, Les Coulées, Le Draveur Sud and L'Escarpement. 

It is also possible to enjoy the other activities of the park (Canoe, Kayak, etc.). For these optional activities, you must register and pay directly to the park. Please note that the number of boats is limited.

WhenFriday October 2nd 2020. Departure at 9 a.m. between Ernest-Lemieux and Alphonse-Desjardins buildings. Return at the same place around 5:30 p.m.

Cost10 $, including transportation by bus and park entry.

Meal: There is no restaurant on the site, only a convenience store. We advise you to bring your own lunch.

Attire: The activity is held outside, you should bring clothing for all kind of weather, as well as good sport shoes.

Covid-19: In compliance with Public health rules, you must wear a mask on the bus and keep a distance of two meters between yourself and any indivdual from a different household than yours, even outside. We recommend that you wash your hands frequently and carry hand sanitizer with you. If you experience symptoms such as fever, dry cough, fatigue, or sudden loss of smell, please stay home and contact the Office of Student Life as soon as possible.

Weather: In case of very bad weather, you will be advised by email if the activity is cancelled or postponed.
