The Bureau de la vie étudiante invite you to a sled dog stroll. Dog sledding has been an integral part of the culture of the Canadian north from its origin as a mean of transportation to nowadays as a leisure activity.

The activity offered consists of a 45 minutes sled dog ride where, in team of two, you spend half the time as the driver and the other half as the passenger. As the whole group will not ride at the same time, during the waiting time, you will have the possibility to take part in a snowshoeing guided tour, to slide down a hill and visit the puppies in the kennel.

All of these activities will take place in the beautiful private forest of the Chenil La poursuite, located in Saint-Nicolas on the south shore of Québec City.

Chenil la poursuite: www.chenillapoursuite.com

In Québec, winter is synonymous with outdoor activities each more unique than the other. One of the classic is outdoor skating. This February, come and enjoy this traditional winter sport at the Parc de glisse du Grand-Héron in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, where it is possible to skate on almost 3km of trails throughout the woods. This place is often listed as one of the 10 best places to skate in the province of Québec. An unforgettable experience!

Whether you are already a pro skater or just beginning to discover this sport, it’s possible to join us. During the activity, our volunteers will be there to help you improve your technique and help you out in case of need. Beware; this activity is not a course, so it is not aimed for complete beginners.

It is possible to rent skates for 5$ on the site, but as it is impossible to make reservation, we cannot therefore guarantee that skates your size will be available. Therefore, it is better to bring your own or rent some at the PEPS for 10$ for 24h and bring them with you. Second-hand skates can be bought in most used goods stores or on the classified ads site Kijiji.

During this activity we propose two hours of free skating.
