*** Activity exclusively reserved for Université Laval students***

This summer, discover a new water activity: the Rabaska canoe. This very stable boat can transport up to 20 adults and their luggage and can be up to 10 meters long. The origin of the Rabaska canoe can be traced to the Algonquins first nation. In the 17th and 18th centuries, it was used by the French and British explorers to reach the inside of North America through its waterways. Nowadays, it is popular with outdoor enthusiasts because of its capacity and stability.

The activity we offer is a one hour and a half guided tour on a Rabaska canoe on the magnificent Jacques-Cartier River in the park of the same name. Note that in order to make the canoe move, all participants must paddle!

When: Friday August 24th 2018. Departure at 9 a.m. between Ernest-Lemieux and Alphonse-Desjardins buildings. Return to the same place around 3:30 p.m.

Cost: 20 $, including transportation, park entry and the Rabaska tour.

Length: The guided tour on the Rabaska canoe last for one hour and a half. Afterward, you will have time to picnic on the shores of the river and to hike in the neighboring trails.

Meal: Sale of food is limited on site; we recommend you bring your own lunch. Plan a cold lunch (one that does not need heating in a microwave) as we will be eating outside.

Attire: This activity is entirely outside and will be held rain or shine (except in case of thunderstorms). We recommend you wear the appropriate clothing for all kind of weather. It is strongly recommended you wear good walking shoes. We also recommend you bring insect repellent, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.

Tickets are on sale until August 22nd 4 p.m..Tickets for this activity are limited. First come, first served! No refund.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified via email.
