Plus qu’un show de covers, Big Messe est un hommage à Patti Smith. Le but de The Not Patti Smith Group est d’incarner son message, d’offrir l’expérience de sa poésie, de son irrévérence et du style garage punk rock 70’-80’.

Le show est assez déclamateur. C’est une grand-messe chaotique, d'où le titre. Patti Smith n’est pas “imitée”, comme le font certains band hommage. Plutôt, c’est l’histoire d’une rencontre d’artistes avec son message et son attitude. Sont ajoutées des poésies en français. Certains passages sont changés (comme le fait Patti Smith elle-même avec ses propres chansons ou avec celles des autres). On danse, on plane, on voyage, on hurle, on prend position «without apology». Le show se veut une expérience spirit-punkrock ancrée dans l’aujourd’hui, mais inspirée de la nostalgique époque du punkrock newyorkais, de laquelle Patti Smith est une icône.Ça donne un show en franglais, planant, trash, spirit, avec beaucoup de textes et de jams. En même temps, le répertoire musical couvre aussi du style plus pop, ça rejoint donc un large public et un public underground en même temps.
***More than a cover band, Big Messe is a tribute to Patti Smith. The goal of The Not Patti Smith Group is to embody her message, to offer the experience of her poetry, her irreverence and the 70'-80' garage punk rock style.The show is quite declaiming. It's a chaotic high mass, hence the title. Patti Smith is not "imitated", as some tribute bands do. Rather, it is the story of an encounter of artists with her message and her attitude. Poems in French are added. Some passages are changed (as Patti Smith herself does with her own songs or those of others). We dance, we hover, we travel, we scream, we take a stand “without apology”. The show aims to be a spirit-punkrock experience rooted in today, but inspired by the nostalgic era of New York punkrock, of which Patti Smith is an icon.It gives a show in Franglais, trippy, trash, spirit, with a lot of texts and jams. At the same time, the musical repertoire also covers more pop styles, so it reaches a large audience and an underground audience at the same time.
