This training is designed exclusively for Certified Music Therapists (MTA) who wish to deepen their use of percussion instruments in clinical practice with diverse client populations. The workshop offers a structured exploration of rhythmic games specifically adapted for therapeutic interventions, allowing participants to integrate rhythm as a tool for grounding, communication, and group cohesion.

Participants will experiment with facilitation techniques involving emotional modulation, as well as non-invasive nonverbal cues to guide groups in a sensitive, respectful, and clinically safe manner. Through rhythmic co-regulation exercises, attendees will learn to attune to clients’ internal states and support synchronized group engagement.

The training also addresses essential principles of logistics, expressive safety, and sensory boundaries to ensure an optimal therapeutic environment. Together, we will develop rhythmic activities that are directly transferable to clinical sessions and that support grounding, self-regulation, communication, and collective cohesion.

*This workshop counts as continuing education credits with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists.
