Serhiy Salov

Serhiy Salov is an exceptional pianist known for his energetic and highly musical playing. His remarkable technique, rigour and virtuosity are qualities he places in the service of musical poetry. Audiences’ enthusiasm and critics’ praise confirm the important place he occupies on the international music scene as a soloist and chamber musician. In addition, Serhiy Salov is known for his piano transcriptions of symphonic works such as Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, Debussy's Nocturnes, Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain and many others. After beginning his musical education in Ukraine, he continued his studies in London, where he obtained a master’s degree at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and went on to earn a PhD at the Université de Montréal. His skills go far beyond piano technique: composition, improvisation, musicology and language studies complement his training and allow him to display his highly expressive nature.
