The Cobalt Quartet is deeply connected to the string quartet repertoire, from its origins in the Baroque-Classical transition to the creation of new works today.
At the heart of the ensemble’s artistic vision is the pursuit of a rich and varied sound palette.
Reflections of Time is a musical mosaic spanning several centuries. Grounded in historically informed performance, the program gains a distinctive character through the use of period-specific instruments, bows, and strings from the Classical, Romantic, and contemporary eras. Each work reveals its own unique atmosphere, texture, and timbre.
The program features three composers – Maddalena Laura Lombardini Sirmen, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, and Alicia Terzian – each of whom left a lasting mark on their time.
