From Romanticism to Impressionism

Come and experience a great musical moment with Stephan Sylvestre! You will have the immense pleasure of hearing Schumann’s Fantasy.

Acclaimed for his magical sound and his constant desire to go to the heart of the work (Le Droit, Ottawa), for his absolute control of the keyboard and a natural passion reminiscent of that of Artur Rubinstein (La Presse), Stéphan Sylvestre is one of the most important Canadian pianists of the new generation. Recipient of the prestigious Prix d'Europe, he leads an active career as a soloist, chamber musician and educator and has performed in Canada, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, South America and Asia, in the most famous halls such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Place des Arts and the National Arts Centre. He has collaborated with many world-renowned musicians and has been compared to Murray Perahia (WholeNote) for his recording of the late full work for solo piano by composer Johannes Brahms.
