Experience the essence of the Romantic period, brought to life by the award-winning Ukrainian-Russian Kudriakova-Shatalkin Piano Duo.
Ukrainian pianist Olga Kudriakova is a laureate of several international competitions, a graduate of the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory and a postgraduate student of Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She has performed both as a solo pianist and as a chamber musician across Europe, and has taken part in international festivals as a performer and teacher.
Laureate of several international competitions including the 2013 Vienna International Piano Competition, Maxim Shatalkin graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He has taken part in various music festivals around the world, including the Julitafestival (Sweden), and the Banff Summer Music Festival (Canada).He currently performs as a member of the Fibonacci Music Trio.
Together, the couple co-founded thethe Ars Nova School of Arts and Music in Moscowin 2017. They have performed as a duo across Russia, Europe and America, and have been awarded prestigious prizes including the 2015 International Competition Pietro Argento in Italy and the 2016 International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition in Boston. The couple fled Moscow a few months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Settling in Montreal, they have quickly become involved in the local music community, teaching piano to young Ukrainian refugees and offering concert performances at venues like the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur.
