Pallade Musica (Music of Athena) brings together some of the finest musicians on the Montreal Baroque scene. Co-directed by Tanya LaPerrière, violin, and Vincent Lauzer, recorder, the ensemble stands out for its expressive and elegant interpretations, which are grounded in research and exploration. Critics praise them for their “spectacular virtuosity” (Tom Strini Blog) and “formidable sense of ensemble” (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel). In addition to its annual Montreal season, the ensemble has toured extensively in the U.S., Colombia and Canada. Its members perform regularly with internationally renowned early music ensembles, while pursuing careers as soloists and teachers. Since its creation, the ensemble has won a number prestigious prizes, first in New York and then in Utrecht, Holland, and has been nominated for several Opus awards for its recordings on the ATMA label, as well as for its Montreal concerts.
