David Cannon (PeopleCert) - Director, Americas Enterprise & Government

David Cannon is a leading IT Service Management expert. He has co-authored 4 ITIL books, including “Service Operation” in ITIL v3 and “Digital and IT Strategy” in ITIL 4.  He has worked in the field as a practitioner, consultant and business executive for over 3 decades. David has also led ITSM practices in Hewlett-Packard, BMC Software, and Forrester Research. Today he is the head of the Americas region for PeopleCert.


Ken Jarvis (PeopleCert) - Community Lead, Americas

Dynamic businessman, entrepreneur, and senior executive. Recognized as a thought leader in the IT space with a proven track record in accelerating successful digital business transformation. Currently working with Peoplecert in an Enterprise Consulting role to assist clients in making maximum use of the various Peoplecert frameworks.

Jean-Claude Beaudry (Qualiti7) - President - IT Governance and Management advisor

Jean-Claude Beaudry, one of the pioneers in IT Service Management in Canada, founded Qualiti7 more than 17 years ago. Advisor by profession, trainer and lecturer by passion, he is interested in the best practices of the industry, aims to master their meaning and values and find ways to adapt them to serve the objectives sought by organizations or to help them address the challenges and difficulties that prevent them from succeeding well. Accredited Trainer with multiple organizations; he promotes the adoption of good practices among small as well as large organizations. He constantly seeks to develop new knowledge and to grow his experiences in the sharing and implementation of these. He recently contributed to the development of several service catalogs to help IT departments better discuss the services offered with their customers and users. In recent years, beyond his extensive expertise surrounding ITIL and ITSM, he has gained recognition for PRINCE2, BRM, SIAM, DevOps and Lean-IT. A natural leader, he created Qualiti7 in a spirit of sharing and in 2017 launched the annual iQ7 conference. This is now the largest French-speaking conference dealing with good IT management practices around the world.

Bruce Caddell (Dalhousie University) - Associate Director, Client Applications

Bruce's 35-year journey at Dalhousie University is a testament to his unwavering dedication and adaptability. From managing operations at Dalplex to becoming the Associate Director of Client Application Support Services, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional IT leadership.

His active role in industry committees, including the NACCU Board of Directors, showcases his commitment to pioneering advancements in campus card technology and setting industry standards.

With an ITIL Expert Designation, Bruce ensures top-tier operational efficiency and strict adherence to industry benchmarks. His career is marked by professionalism, a relentless pursuit of excellence, and a client-centric approach to IT management.

Looking ahead, Bruce aims to further enhance client application support services by integrating cutting-edge technologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. He is dedicated to driving innovation, improving user experiences, and maintaining Dalhousie's position at the forefront of IT excellence.

Robin West (Dalhousie University) - Architect, Enterprise Applications and Integration, Client Applications

Robin began his career at Dalhousie University in the late 1990s, initially working on Y2K compliance projects and contributing to the ERP migration to the Ellucian Banner platform. Over the years, he has held various IT roles, including technical lead on software implementation projects, where he managed the deployment of enterprise applications and ensured seamless data migration. Robin has designed and developed custom applications using languages such as Java, Python, and SQL, and has built system integrations leveraging APIs, web services, and middleware solutions.

In his current role as System Architect, Robin is responsible for planning Dalhousie’s technology roadmap for enterprise systems. He consults on software procurements, ensuring alignment with the university’s strategic goals and technical requirements. Robin also defines software development standards, focusing on best practices in coding, security, and performance optimization. Additionally, he creates integration solutions that facilitate interoperability between disparate systems, utilizing technologies such as RESTful APIs, SOAP, and message queues.
