Shauit

Nommé deux fois dans la catégorie artiste autochtone de l'année pour le prestigieux gala des prix ADISQ, Shauit chante la pluralité de la mosaïque culturelle des Premières Nations. La plupart du temps en innu, sa langue autochtone, mais aussi en français, Shauit livre une musique à la fois festive et rassembleuse, introspective et hypnotisante. Originaire de Maliotenam dans le nord-est du Québec, l'auteur-compositeur- interprète Shauit chante des chansons fortement inspirées de ses racines innues et de la musique traditionnelle autochtone. Il fusionne avec ingéniosité plusieurs genres populaires (folk, rock, reggae, etc.) et propose des chansons honnêtes, engagées, remplies d'émotions et d'expériences personnelles. Récipiendaire de plusieurs honneurs tel que le prix du meilleur album autochtone au Indigenous Music Award, meilleur auteur-compositeur-interprète au Folk Music Award. Il s’illustre également dans plusieurs vitrines nationales et internationales. Au cours des dernières années, Shauit a joué partout au Canada, aux États-Unis et même en Europe, où il a conquis un public fidèle avec son style novateur fusionnant ses racines avec la musique reggae. He fuses several popular genres (folk, country, rock, reggae, etc.) and offers honest, committed songs filled with emotions and personal experiences. Notable recipient of several major awards, including Best Indigenous Album at the Indigenous Music Awards in 2018, best singer-songwriter at the Folk Music Awards, and many national and international showcases. Shauit's influence and solicitations for his music continue to grow, and he even finds himself in demand for feature films and television series. Over the last few years, Shauit has played throughout Canada, in the United States and even in Europe, where he has conquered a loyal audience with his innovative style and mixed with the culture of his roots. He has participated, among others, at the Folk Alliance, APAP, at the Louisiana International Festival, at the Shibuya Festival showcases (Japan and Zandari Festa (Korea), in Chile last November and also in Nantes, France, last March.
