Alain Lauzon

Originally from Moonbeam in Northeastern Ontario, Alain is a theatre artist based in Ottawa. He recently wrote an autobiographical, verbatim play, En sortant de Cochrane, which played to sold-out audiences at the Undercurrents Festival. The play will continue its run at Théâtre de l’Île in December 2026.

In the Ottawa-Gatineau region, Alain has also been part of the cast of Pain blanc (Théâtre de l’Île), Projet D (Théâtre Rouge Écarlate), and Gatineau by Night (Théâtre Dérives Urbaines).

Théâtre de l'Île

Built in 1886, the former water tower, a site of great beauty, now houses the Théâtre de l'Île. As the first municipal theatre in Quebec, it beautifully blends professional and community elements. This meeting place offers a program that opens up to the classical and contemporary world.
