Thick Glasses

Thick Glasses delivers unifying anthems and memorable riffs infused with punk, hardcore, indie rock, and the darkest corners of metal. As a flagbearer of heavy music in French, the band quickly earned the respect and passion of music lovers with their debut EP En orbite (2018).

However, it was their second EP, the hard-hitting Courir après sa queue (2020), that secured their place in the Francophone punk scene, earning praise from numerous media outlets and radio stations across the province. With tracks like Doggo and Prescription de verres, Thick Glasses built a devoted and engaged fanbase. Their 2021 invitation to the cult TV show 123 Punk, hosted by Rej Laplanche, further cemented their presence in Quebec’s alternative scene.

In April 2022, the Montreal quartet expanded their discography with L’échec héroïque, their first full-length album. More musically adventurous than its predecessors, it fully embraced emo and shoegaze influences, enriching their multi-genre approach. This artistic leap allowed the band to deliver visceral live performances across Quebec, from packed venues to major festivals like Rock La Cauze, Francos de Montréal, and Pouzza Fest. The album also garnered widespread media recognition, making its way onto multiple year-end lists of Quebec’s best records and earning two nominations at the 2022 GAMIQ Awards for Punk Album of the Year and Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

For their second album, Dans l’abysse which came out on February 7, 2025, the band enlisted Ryan Battistuzzi (Malajube, Breastfeeders, NOBRO, Gazoline, Yesterday’s Ring, etc.) to oversee production. This collection of melancholic tracks follows in the footsteps of L’échec héroïque while pushing sonic boundaries even further, blending ultra-catchy pop-driven songs with heavier compositions. This evolution is evident in the romantic and emotionally charged first single Mon accalmie, the electrifying Culturé, whose abrasive riffs land somewhere between Refused and Anthrax, and the epic Anamnésie, a 13-minute journey through post-rock, progressive rock, and stoner metal. Yes, you read that right — Thick Glasses, where Mogwai, Pink Floyd and Yob collide, is very much a thing, and it's already available at your local record store.

Thick Glasses continues to tear up stages across the province, always in pursuit of the peak of destiny and the ultimate killer riff.

Caniche 666

Since its formation in 2020, the Frencpo punk band with hardcore leanings, Caniche 666, has released several demos, cassettes, and EPs, culminating in the release of its debut album, "Enfin connu," in the fall of 2025.

Charles-Éric Lavoie (Juss), Lou Brassard (Bouge Pas), Jonathan Franken (Chârogne), and Julien Daoust (Gulfer) are no strangers to the scene, and their experience and raw energy are evident from the very first notes, both in their live performances and on their previously released projects.
