Born in Dakar, Mame Balla Diouf left Senegal at age 16 to join the family business in The Gambia, while simultaneously nurturing a genuine passion for music. In 1997, he formed the group Dancehall Masters with Brother Coms, which quickly rose to fame thanks to award-winning albums in The Gambia and Senegal. In 2003, he signed with Bouba Ndour and collaborated notably with Viviane on the track “La Fleur,” which was widely played throughout the diaspora. His first solo album, Senegambia (2005), confirmed his musical evolution, while he also developed an acoustic style with his band Darou Salam. After training in music production, he released Man ak mom (2009), several of whose music videos surpassed one million views. Beginning in 2010, he toured Europe and then the United States, championed peace in Senegal, and expanded his international collaborations. Based between Europe and Africa, he explores new genres, participates in jazz and Afrobeat projects, and continues to perform at various festivals.
