Silvinha and Flavia Nascimento freely share their exuberance and zest for life. They came together for the Forró das Comadres project—named in honour of João Silva’s song—and simply light up the stage. Spirited and in perfect harmony, these three generous women bring to life a fresh and vibrant style of forró that nevertheless retains its deep connection to the folk traditions of Brazil’s Northeast. Accompanying the artists’ rich voices, the playful accordion, the energetic zabumba drum and the lively triangle propel each other in a fast tempo that invites you to dance along.
