It’s been over 20 years since Wesli made his Nuits d’Afrique debut on the Club Balattou stage. Since then, his career has soared at home and abroad, making us all very proud. His presence at the 40th anniversary will definitely serve as an inspiration to up-and-coming artists. Regarding his latest album, Makaya (2025), rated among the Top 10 World Music Albums, La Presse noted that “Wesli explores a wide range of sounds, shifting from electronic beats to more stripped-down styles, drawing on reggae influences here, dancing to konpa rhythms there; the result is a lively musical mosaic that he builds piece by piece to create a compelling and evocative whole.” Winner of a Juno, a Félix, and the Prix Charles-Cros, and a leading light in Haitian music, this singer and multi-instrumentalist proudly carries the torch for rasin and twoubadou traditions, combining their banda, rara, petro and nago rhythms, both acoustically and electrically, with Afrobeat and reggae elements. For this series, he invites some of the most iconic artists from the Pearl of the Antilles to join him on stage.
· Stanley “Tantan’n” Toussaint’s distinctive voice has graced Haitian radio stations since the 1980s. A former member of the band Lakòl, this hyperactive multi-instrumentalist joyfully blends acoustic, pop and Haitian rhythms.
