Born in Conakry, Yarie Touré is the daughter of Makale Diallo and Karamoko Touré. She was drawn to music at a very young age—at 7, she was already singing at her primary school’s events and festivals, performing at every opportunity. At the age of 12, she joined the ballet of the Conakry1 federal troupe, quickly becoming a prominent dancer within the group. During this time, she began performing the SABAR, a traditional dance, as well as YANKADI, and animated ceremonial events such as weddings and baptisms. As her journey progressed, she joined another musical group, GROUPE STANDARD PETIT CONDÉ, where she became known as Corris. She was soon discovered by her first producer, ALPHA TRAORÉ GIMS of NINIBOU PRODUCTION, who took her to Côte d’Ivoire to record her very first album at JBZ studio in 2002.
