An intimate and incisive conversation bringing together Djamila Ribeiro, Yuliana Ortiz Ruano, and Blaise Ndala — three authors whose work powerfully reconfigures the Black diaspora from distinct yet resonant vantage points. From Ribeiro’s foundational thinking on lugar de fala and Black feminist thought in Brazil, to Ortiz Ruano’s lyrical, insurgent narratives of Afro-Ecuadorian life on the Pacific coast, to Ndala’s sharp, historically grounded explorations of exile, justice, and postcolonial memory, this conversation traces how literature becomes a site of resistance, imagination, and political clarity across the Americas and beyond.
