Desert Bloom
Yoon Rachel Nam is a Montreal-based electronic musician, whose compositions serve as conduit for her own exploration of trauma, resilience, and the overarching influence of one’s visible identity on perception and experience. She has performed under the project name Desert Bloom since 2016 and has played festivals or contributed commissioned work at festivals such as MUTEK Montreal, MUTEK Buenos Aires/Barcelona, Suoni Per il Popolo, Lux Magna, POP Montreal. Nam is currently working on her second full-length album, which explores the intersection of aesthetics and white supremacy as it relates to her experiences as a Korean-Canadian woman.MUE
Mue is a Montreal-based duo composed of Catherine Debard (YlangYlang) and Léon Lo (Skinnybones). Formed in the Spring of 2020, the electronic musical project merges two distinct practices and explores the way they interact with each other. Drawing on early-IDM, illbient, minimalism, and natural phenomena, the resulting real-time hardware improvisations weave asymmetric patterns, create spaces, and digest various sounds. The duet put out a two-song 10” vinyl EP on Montreal record store La Rama’s La Rama Dubs LMTD and a digital single on Halocline Trance, with whom they will release their first LP in the Fall of 2022. They also host 'Heavy Metal Parking Lot', a monthly radio show on n10.as.Upcoming Events
