Bekar: the melancholic child of the North
Behind the name Bekar lies an artist with a unique background and a sharp flow, who has now established himself as one of the key figures in French rap. Originally from Lille, Bekar grew up surrounded by red brick buildings and shattered dreams. In just a few years, he has managed to win over a loyal audience and now has a community of 1.5 million fans.
An undeniable success: half a billion streams and gold records
In the space of three projects, he has racked up half a billion streams and two gold records (“Mirasierra” and “Plus fort que l'orage”), milestones in his career. Well supported, he has been able to collaborate throughout his projects with the most prestigious names in the French rap scene (PLK, SDM, Georgio, Lesram, etc.).
A debut album and a sold-out tour:
In 2024, Bekar reached a decisive milestone with the release of his first album, “Plus fort que l'orage.” This project marks a turning point in his maturity, revealing a more intimate but also more ambitious Bekar. With melancholic and poetic tracks such as “Il existe un endroit” and “Razorlight,” he explores very personal themes and becomes the architect of music that goes far beyond the boundaries of rap.
Bekar is not content to shine on streaming platforms: he is also conquering concert halls. This is evidenced by his tour and his two Olympia shows, which sold out several months in advance.
2025: the comeback
The year 2025 promises to be just as intense for Bekar, who is set to fill two Zeniths in Paris and Lille in January 2026, preceded by a tour throughout France. The young Lille native is not stopping there and is already preparing a new project before the summer. After the success of his first album, it's clear that Bekar's rise is only just beginning.
