Calling All Amateur Mycologists!

On October 28th, 2023 we're going to meet up at the lovely Bois-de-Liesse nature park for some hiking and foraging. The event begins at 11am, when will be gathering at the Des Champs welcome centre (3555 Rue Douglas B Floreani, Saint-Laurent, QC H4S 1Y6). From here, we'll disperse and scrounge around for some late season 'shrooms. You can wander off by yourself, or stick with the group to learn a bit more about our fungal friends from other club members. We'll meet back up at the welcome centre at 2:30 for a late lunch and compare specimens, and then the event will end at around 4-4:30pm.

People of any age are welcome (and encouraged), including Non-Concordia Students.

Important Info:

Please dress for the weather. We'll be outside for several hours, and it's likely to be cold and couple possible be wet and or muddy. 

You should bring a lunch which can be easily carried with you while walking.

Make sure to bring any guide books you think you may need, as well as a basket/bag for anything you collect.

The CMS is not able to provide rented bus transport for this event, but there are multiple ways to get there.

This event is public transit accessible. The 175 West from Du College leaves every 40 minutes and will take you just outside the welcome centre. 

We will be trying to coordinate carpooling for anyone who needs a ride. Please leave a comment on our Instagram or Facebook (@ConcordiaMycology) posts or send us a private message and we can help you find a driver or riders. Note that there is a 10$ fee for onsite parking.
