A Canadian Explains Eurovision is an energetic mix of pop trivia, karaoke, and personal revelations that invites Canadians into Eurovision’s fabulous and tumultuous “non-political” world. One part TED Talk, stand up comedy and cabaret this show features a full instructional on what is the contest, it's major turning points and why this Eurovision superfan is obsessed - for better or worse! Featuring high energy pieces from Eurovision history, hidden gems and exactly one sparkly costume, this "Near perfect explainer show" (fringereviews.co.uk) invites you to dive into the contest before Canada makes its grand debut and asks the question "What exactly are we stepping into here?"

Matti McLean is a Canadian artist, storyteller, and Eurovision superfan from North Bay, Ontario, now based in Toronto. His work blends comedy, song, and personal narrative—exploring queer identity and fandom as forms of community and self‑expression. Recent highlights include touring across the country as a part of "Solovela," As well as touring his own shows "The $#!T", "A Canadian Explains Eurovision To ____" and "Bodies." Let me know if there's anything else you might need and I'll try to send it along asap!
