KRIS KINOKEWIN: PE KIWAN
Kris Kinokewin, aka Christian Boivin, is an Atikamekw singer-songwriter from Wemotaci. Influenced by 70s and 80s rock and pop, he founded the band Kinokewin with his brothers in 2007. In 2024, he began his solo career with the singles Ekote Aci, Kiapatc, and Onicka, which led to his second album, Pe Kiwan. Carried by the Atikamekw language, his folk songs express a strong cultural and identity-based foundation.
