Science for Lunatics

Science for Lunatics    Biography

Science for Lunatics is an alternative rock band with modern and old school influences and sometimes with a melancholic overtone.

The project was brought to life in 2012 by lifelong friends Pierre Bissonnette (Drums) and Daniel Archambault (Bass guitar). These two Montrealers had previously played together in another group from the Montreal indie scene (Sway). The project actually took off later on in 2012 when Gabriel Morin, guitarist and ex-member of the band Shallow Eyes joined the two musicians. The group then met their lead singer, Julie Ladouceur a few months later in the spring of 2013, which marks the official birth of Science for Lunatics.

In 2013, Science for Lunatics recorded and auto-produced their music at the Lunatics studio. They also launched the Virus Signature records, which will be used for the production and the recording of their songs and musical side-projects. Meanwhile, the group received an offer to participate in the making of the soundtrack for the feature film "Une journée dans la vie d’un lion".

In May of 2015, the band won the Montreal regional finale when they participated in the Planetrox contest. They were also part of the 20th edition of the Envol and Macadam festival in September 2015, staring popular bands such as Rise Against, Millencolin, Despised Icon and many more. Their first E.P. "Blank Slate" has been released in november 2015.

In march 2016, Science for Lunatics were among the Omnium du Rock's regional finalists for Montreal.
