Sandveiss

Founded in Quebec City in 2011, SANDVEISS is a Heavy Rock band that offers music that is both heavy and melodic, reminiscent of Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Tool or Mastodon.

Their first album "Scream Queen", released in 2013 and reissued in 2014 on the Sexy Sloth label, won the Heavy Album of the Year award at GAMIQ 2015. That same summer, SANDVEISS performed on the Plains of Abraham during the FEQ (opening for High on Fire and Megadeth) and at the Heavy Montreal festival. 2016 was marked by the release of the 7" vinyl EP ("Save Us All", nominated for GAMIQ), as well as a tour in Sweden. After a few member changes and a fruitful writing period, SANDVEISS returned in 2019 with a second album. "Saboteur" is heavy, catchy and salutary. The following year, the band unveiled Sandveiss Bloody Sandveiss, a tribute to their roots in the form of four Black Sabbath covers. A third album will be released on October 11, 2024: "Standing in the Fire". Through this album, SANDVEISS addresses themes such as division, growing polarization and the toxicity of social networks, which they perceive as a reflection of a sick society. The result is a powerful and sincere album, which mixes musical intensity and lyrical depth.

The band is currently composed of Luc Bourgeois (vocals/guitar), Shawn Rice (guitar), Maxime Moisan (bass) and Dominic Gaumond (drums).

Sons of Arrakis

Sons of Arrakis (SOA) is a Montreal-based band formed in June 2019, drawing inspiration from Frank Herbert's Dune novels. Their unique sound, described as Melange Rock and Cinematographic Sci-Fi Rock, has captured the attention of audiences and critics alike.

Their debut album, Volume I, released in July 2022, quickly rose to the number 1 spot on the Doom Chart and secured the number 8 position in the year-end recap. Following this success, SOA embarked on the Interprovincial Wormhole Tour with AAWKS in early 2023, captivating audiences across Ontario. They continued their momentum with the Orbiting the Void Tour alongside Pharm in Quebec, showcasing their powerful live performances.

In October 2023, the band expanded their reach with a tour in Mexico, coinciding with La Dia de Los Muertos, further broadening their international appeal. In March 2024, Sons of Arrakis joined forces with Salem’s Bend for The Great Scattering Tour, a journey through Québec and Ontario that reconnected them with their growing fanbase.

The band's much-anticipated second album, Volume II, was released in June 2024. It quickly climbed to the number 3 spot on the Doom Chart in July 2024 and received widespread critical acclaim for its atmospheric depth, powerful storytelling, and intricate compositions.

Altar of the Fuzz is an emerging band on the Ottawa metal scene, offering a blend of Desert, Stoner, Doom and Heavy Psych.
