Mateo is an  emerging artist on the Afro-Latin scene who has conquered the Canadian music scene with his unique blend of global pop-rock and Afro-Latin influences. He won the Radio Canada Revelation Artist Award for 2020-2021, and was also named 'Singer of the Year 2020' at the Canada Latin Awards. His album "VENGO", launched in May 2023 with his six-musician band, marked a major turning point in his career. Since arriving in Montreal at the age of 19, Mateo has played at festivals such as the Festival International de Jazz and the Festival Nuits d'Afrique. Presented by the Azul Rojo Music label, Mateo continues to redefine contemporary Latin music with his innovative and captivating style.
