A rare chance to see and hear the exceptional guitarist who composed the main themes of Woody Allen’s films Midnight in Paris and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Originally from Fontainebleau, France, Stephane Wrembel has lived in the United States for twenty years. His inimitable sound offers gypsy jazz of the highest caliber, drawing on the legendary Django Reinhardt's vast repertoire and compositions. This is music for the soul, inspired by baroque, impressionist, jazz and rock influences, with accents of Gabor Szabo and even Baden Powell.  For this special concert, Stephane and his band will welcome guitarist François Rioux, member of the Lost Fingers and a Quebec master in gipsy music. A guitar tsunami!

SPECIAL GUEST: François Rioux

Guitarist François Rioux has been one of the mainstays of the jazz scene in Quebec for several years. He currently teaches jazz guitar at Laval University and Cégep Ste-Foy. Mr. Rioux has shared the stage with David Reinhardt, Django's grandson, and recently recorded a collaboration between his band The Lost Fingers, Biréli Lagrène and Elton John’s conductor John Jorgenson. With The Lost Fingers, François has performed in many countries, including Russia, Spain, Turkey, Greece and Jordan. François is currently completing a doctorate in Jazz performance.
