Julie Hamelin invites you to the launch of her new album of compositions, Chapitres. After several jazz projects, she now offers her compositions in French in a format closer to pop/soul, but always with this jazz sound which highlights rich vocal harmonies and improvisation. As if we needed a new musical category (not), the term alternative jazz sums up this amalgam pretty well; on one hand we hear jazz through the musicians’s touch and, on the other, sits a modern look through the composition and arrangements. Thanks to the support of musicians of undeniable talent (Rémi-Jean LeBlanc, Jérôme Beaulieu, Kevin Warren) and singers of high caliber (Malika Tirolien, JP Loignon, AndréAne Robichaud), Julie allows herself a sensitive and unusual writing by combining serious and universal subjects to thrilling musical moments. The surprising textures and the virtuosity of the musicians give a unique color to her universe. A gentle reflection on the passages, the small or challenging chapters of our lives.
