FIKA(S) is excited to announce a special evening highlighting the artistic collaboration between Montreal's Claire Morrison and the talented Icelandic singer Lay Low. As part of this partnership, Claire has chosen Lay Low as her collaborator to honor her Icelandic roots and explore a new musical dimension.

This intimate evening will be the result of a week-long mini artistic residency, during which the two artists will have merged their musical and creative worlds. Together, they will unveil the fruits of their collaboration in an intimate performance, infused with their shared musical universe.

Claire Morrison was born at the junction of two rivers, where even nature makes its own music. Her concerts, described as filled with "radiant folk music... brilliant" (Rocknfool), strike a chord with everyone. Her rich voice resonates, taking us far away — both within ourselves and beyond — lifting and transporting us before gently bringing us back home. "She impresses with her ability to convey sensations and inspirations... a unique, astonishing, and insatiable composer."

Lay Low, aka Lovísa Elísabet Sigrúnardóttir, is an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. Born in England to a Sri Lankan father and an Icelandic mother, she blends cultural influences into music that is both familiar and unique. Recognized in Iceland and internationally, she stands out with her deep voice, mastery of the guitar, and heartfelt songs about love, resilience, and self-discovery. In 2022, she represented Iceland at the Eurovision with "Með hækkandi sól," showcasing her talent. Her intimate and authentic performances captivate audiences, solidifying her impact in today’s music scene.
