Raised as an only child of a single mother, Dan learned that he was going to be by himself a lot, so he might as well learn to laugh at stuff. Son of A Gary goes through the many questions that the mid 30s bring: should he (if given the chance) have kids? Is wanting to be liked a bad thing? Are police dogs on your side? From screaming babies on airplanes to remembering what his single Mom had to go through raising an odd only child. Soder emphasizes that humor and jokes are best used when life gets tough….. or boring. Throughout a childhood of loneliness, boredom, and sometimes death, Soder learned that tiny boxers don’t feel as violent, old people have stuff that might be yours one day, and most importantly we should all learn how to pick that hair out of our food and keep going. Like adults do.
