Project Object. The music of Frank Zappa featuring Ike Willis and Don Preston

The Frank Zappa tribute band Project Object will be stopping at Maverick's in Ottawa on October 7th.

Project Object is the tribute to Frank Zappa based on former members of the group with the most longevity. For over twenty years, they welcomed on stage several former members of Frank Zappa band. They have performed in the United States, Canada and Europe.

For his fall tour 2016 Project Object is featuring Ike Willis will and Don Preston.

Ike Willis, the voice of Joe's Garage and Thingfish Joe. Ike was singer and rhythm guitarist for Zappa’s band for virtually every tour from 1978 until the final tour in 1988. Incredible baritone and incendiary guitarist Ike is a favorite of fans of Frank Zappa. In the biggest tours of Frank Zappa, Ike Willis was one of the star singers.

Don Preston met Zappa in Los Angeles in the 60s a few years Don has become one of the most dynamic figures of the Mothers of invention Zappa, playing with Frank from 1966 to 1974. Don's work on the revolutionary in It For the Money has marked his time.

First Pianist, Don Preston was a pioneer of electronic music by being one of the first to incorporate synthesizers in rock music.

Don Preston worked with giants like Nat King Cole and Jack Bruce. He also composed soundtracks for films including Apocalypse Now. He continues to tour and get involved in various musical projects.

Project Object will highlight each of the eras of music including several Zappa classics and other rare items.
