Elephant Stone

Formed in Montreal in 2009, Elephant Stone is the brainchild of vocalist, bassist, songwriter, and sitar player, Rishi Dhir. Also featuring Miles Dupire (drums/backing vox) and Gabriel Lambert (geetar/backing vox), Elephant Stone have toured extensively throughout North America and Europe, spearheaded the Hindie-Rock movement, and are prominent members of the burgeoning psych rock scene. Dhir has recorded, performed, and toured with indie rock icons (Beck), legendary cult bands (The Brian Jonestown Massacre), and contemporary psych titans (The Black Angels and The Horrors).

Released in 2009 on Dhir’s own Elephants on Parade label, Elephant Stone’s debut album, The Seven Seas, was nominated for the 2009 Polaris Music Prize, which honors the best full-length Canadian album. Produced by Jace Lasek (The Besnard Lakes), the album introduced Elephant Stone’s innovative blend of rock ‘n’ roll, Hindustani classical music, and infectious pop on an album chockfull of memorable songs, such as “Bombs Bomb Away,” “How Long,” and “The Seven Seas.” The 2010 EP The Glass Box expanded on the spirited sounds of The Seven Seas.

In 2013 Elephant Stone released their second full-length LP, Elephant Stone. The album received critical acclaim from NPR, Brooklyn Vegan, Consequence of Sound, and other important media outlets. It also contained Dhir’s finest batch of songs yet, especially the singles “Heavy Moon” and “Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin,” as well as the raga-drenched meditation, “A Silent Moment.”

A third album – The Three Poisons – followed in 2014. Elephant Stone’s heaviest, grooviest, and most ambitious record to date, The Three Poisons yielded the band’s two biggest hits: “Knock You from Yr Mountain” and “Child of Nature (Om Namah Shivaya).” And the darkly compelling and inventive “Three Poisons” showcased Dhir’s lyrical exploration of Buddhist themes and The Tibetan Book of the Dead.

In 2016 Elephant Stone will release their fourth album, Ship of Fools. A single from the album – the ominous dance-psych freakout “The Devil’s Shelter” – features Maas on vocals and is already available as a digital download.

Walrus

Walrus is comprised of four members channeling their inner psychedelia, with songs that range from trance to surf. Their music will adhere to all levels of inebriation or consciousness. Walrus takes you swiftly into a dream you'll find yourself never wanting to wake up from.

Pif Paf

Pif Paf Hangover is a Montreal based electro funky pop duo formed in 2011 by musicians Max O Finn (lead vocals, guitars) and Emmanuel C Boucher (Keyboards, back vocals).

The duo met in jam sessions while they were improvising for customers in bars and restaurants.

With the experience from these live sessions and with a mutual passion for instrumental and electronic music production they start collaborating in studio to record their first six track EP adding a touch of rock to the equation and distribute it independently.

On the spring of 2014 Pif Paf released their very first album Curry Love on the The Good people Records label. Co-produced by David Laurendeau and Pif Paf Hangover, Curry Love was well received by the media; the album got many praises in newspapers such as the Gazette, le Voir and Metro. The release was followed by a tour across Quebec and Ontario where the band notably played the NXNE, RIDM and FME festivals. A few songs were selected to be used in popular tv shows such as Tamy, Oui Surf and Tout le monde en parle. Curry Love really stood out as an original album mixing indie pop rock and electronic finding it's way to the first position of CISM's "Top Anglo".

One year after Curry Love was released, the duo offered a 4 track EP of remixes made by Montreal producers Toast Dawg and Artist Of The Year amongst others.

The boys are currently working on the second complete album focusing more on the funky electronic genre with more soulful vocals. The album is planned to be released sometime in 2016.
