MNSF: Mark Nelson’s Sympathetic Frequencies

Free of any polyphonic instrument, Mark Nelson’s project encourages spontaneity in musical creation, dazzling us with melodic lines and rhythmic conversations. This music invites us in, enthralling us with sounds that create a unique atmosphere. Who could ask for anything more?

Mark Nelson BATTERIE/DRUMS, Colin Power SAXOPHONE ALTO/ALTO SAXOPHONE, Lex French TROMPETTE/TRUMPET, Nicolas Bédard CONTREBASSE/UPRIGHT BASS

Bring out the silverware! We have visitors from New York. The accomplished saxophonist, Ben Wendel (Kneebody, Tigran Hamasyan) returns to Montreal to share the stage for a second time with this Montreal trio. On the program are original pieces from each musician, a few standards and breathtaking improvisations that scale the peak of Mount Jazz.
