Rami Khalifé - (Lebanon)

Lost - ciné-concert

39$ 29$ (student discount) + taxes and fees

Pianist Rami Khalifé, son of the great singer and composer Marcel Khalifé, bares his soul in this remarkable concert film. Director François Rousseau weaves Khalifé’s music into a personal, unflinching portrait of Lebanon that will capture your heart and ignite your senses, unveiling the striking contrasts of this country where beauty, devastation and resilience can be found in equal measure.

A child prodigy who grew up playing both Arab and Western classical music, Rami Khalifé has forged his own path, as eclectic as it is bold. His compositions run the gamut from orchestral works to documentary and feature film soundtracks. He is also the founder of the classic electro group Aufgang, an experimental music ensemble. With his distinctive impressionistic style, Rami Khalifé has emerged as one of the most exciting composers of the twenty-first century.

LOST explores feelings of grief, solitude and yearning for a bygone Lebanon. From bustling city scenes to serene cedar forests, bleak refugee camps to harmonious multi-faith communities, audiences will discover a world of both abundance and strife, a Lebanon in disarray where memories of past glories are tempered by pangs of nostalgia.

This event will be presented in cabaret format, the public will be seated.
