This Homecoming concert marks our joy at reconnecting with our audience, just in time to celebrate two important anniversaries: the 35th anniversary of the Chœur classique de l'Outaouais (CCO) and the 10th anniversary of Tiphaine Legrand at the helm of the Chœur.

For the occasion, the program unfolds in a necklace of favorites drawn from our repertoire of the past 10 years. It will include music from the Renaissance, Tomas Luis de Victoria, the great master Bach, the French baroque of Charpentier and of the Jesuit Missions of Bolivia, Russian and Spanish songs, not to mention contemporary compositions created for the CCO by Frédéric Lacroix, Claude-Marie Landré and Glenn McClure.

Tiphaine Legrand

Tiphaine Legrand arrives in Quebec in 1998 where she studied singing and choir direction with Chantal Masson-Bourque at Laval University, then Nicole Paiement and Robert Ingari at the Université de Sherbrooke. Tiphaine is a passionate teacher of choral music and works with singers of all ages and in many musical styles. As the artistic director of Ensemble Kô from 2006 to 2013, Tiphaine explored in particular the links between early music and that of contemporary Québécois composers. She currently conducts several choirs, including the Choral Singing section of the Youth School of the Music Faculty of the Université de Montréal and she is the music and choir director of the Choeur classique de l'Outaouais since September 2011.

Frédéric Lacroix

Frédéric Lacroix has performed in Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia as soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist. Frédéric has devoted part of his time to the study and performance of music on period keyboard instruments, for which he was recognized as the Westfield Center Performing Scholar for 2008-09. A much sought-after chamber musician, Frédéric has performed with some of the most distinguished musicians from Canada and abroad. Frédéric is also active as a composer, having composed for the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, the Society for American Music, the Canadian University Music Society, the Chœur classique de l'Outaouais, The Ottawa Recitalists (a voice and piano duo he formed with tenor Denis Boudreault), and other noted Canadian musicians. He currently teaches piano and composition at the University of Ottawa and works regularly with the National Arts Centre. Frédéric is delighted to have accompanied the Chœur classique de l'Outaouais for over a decade.
