ESCAPING AGRA AND CLIPS FROM OTHER FILMS BY DIASPORA FILMMAKERS

ESCAPING AGRA is a short documentary about Naveen Bhat, who is trapped in India after their parents find out about their gender and sexual orientation, and their journey to battle them in court and piece their life back together. 

Filmmaker’s Bio: Pallavi Somusetty is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and video journalist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned a Master of Journalism from UC Berkeley's J-School and her thesis film Escaping Agra has been screened in multiple festivals around the world. Pallavi is currently producing a documentary about doulas working within communities of color.

This film will be screened along with several other clips from Diaspora filmmakers along with their own narration.
