Darlene Jerome/Gijuminag (Mi’gmaq) – singing and Mi’gmaq drum  Mixel Etxekopar (Basque Country) – flutes, tambourines, and vocals  Claudine Arhancet (Basque Country) – singing

An meeting between the songs and musics of the Basques and those of the Mig’mawag peoples. Claudine Arhancet sings the mountain where she was born with strength and gentleness. Mixel Etxekopar has been playing, singing, and blowing his ancient instruments for a long time too. Both live their Basque identity by discovering the Other. Darlene Gijuminag will be there to welcome them with the voice and drum of her people. It will be a meeting between these nations who met centuries ago, through a project that combines music and poetry. An encounter between the Basques of the earth and the Mig’mawag of the earth… 

This project is the result of a creative residency offered by the Centre des musiciens du monde to these three artists to encourage artistic and intercultural dialogue. Join us to discover this new work on October 8th in Quebec City.

Conditions and information :

- The concerts will take place at the Salle de L’Arquemuse : 151-A rue St-François Est, Ville de Québec at 7 pm

- The concerts start at 7 p.m. and last about 60 minutes

- Ticketing: Adults - Students (20 + tx + ticketing fees)

- Purchase of billets via lepointdevente

- Unassigned seats, first come first served on the evening of the concert

- Doors open 30 minutes before the start of the concert
