Walking tour of Rouyn-Noranda
June 4 2020
Departure from UQAT on foot at 9:00 am, return around 12:00 pm
Number of participants: Minimum (5)
Discover the city of Rouyn-Noranda by walking through its streets (~ 4 km roundtrip walk). A visit to the Parc à Fleurs d’Eau, a botanical and mineralogical park, will allow you to see all the horticultural potential of the region, often overlooked, with its 25,000 plants. The Édouard Pond, in the center of the park, is a great place to watch waterfowl. Then, a visit to Maison Dumulon, the city's first general store, will provide you with information on the history of Rouyn and Noranda, and more broadly, of Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Maison Dumulon offers free bicycle rentals to go around Lake Osisko on the beautiful 7km bike path. It is also possible to rent a boat (pedal boat, canoe, kayak) at a low cost to enjoy the lake and its attractions. A return to UQAT is planned around noon, but participants are welcome to stay in downtown Rouyn to explore in the afternoon.

Rouyn-Noranda à pied
4 juin 2020
