RedFox

RedFox blends traditional folk instruments with ambient musical elements to create a unique sound full of vibes and raw emotion. RedFox was formed when folk duo Jono Townsend and Tim Loten relocated to Montreal and joined up with vocalist/fiddle virtuoso Daphnee Vandal. After months of honing their sound and rehearsing in apartment living rooms, the band had a vision, but was having difficulty finding their missing piece. Determined, they decided it was time to expand. Hoping to achieve a broader, more dynamic sound, the trio reached out to experienced metal drummer and longtime university friend, Sam Neumann, to join on drums, as well as prog-rock bassist Sam Robinson to complete the outfit. Their sound was transformed into the folky, ambient, high-energy experience that we come to know as RedFox, retaining their acoustic roots while also exploring and blending more electric sounds. The group can trace their influences back to bands such as Punch Brothers, Half Moon Run, and Paramore. Since its birth, the band has released two EPs and one full length album. The first self-titled EP features “Calling Out” and “Song for the Little Ones”. The second, titled 'Recovery', was released in 2019, featuring “Hurry Up” and finishing with their powerful and emotional track “Stay”. Despite the difficulties in 2020 for musicians, RedFox has pushed forward and released 3 new singles leading up to their debut full-length album release entitled 'Stranger Love' in October 2021; an honest look at life, love and interpersonal relationships. Notable past performances include Kemptville Live Music Festival for two consecutive years (2018-2019), Opinicon Music Festival (2019) and Stewart Park Music Festival (2019).

Low Life Lolas

Low Life Lolas, fronted by songwriter Renee Parr, is a Toronto-based indie-rock quartet whose haunting, bittersweet pop songs evoke a hint of nostalgia. Inspired by contemporaries like Alvvays, Hop Along, and Bad Bad Hats, Parr places melody front and centre, crafting memorable hooks that underscore stories of struggle, heartbreak, and queer love. Through the lens of their Northern Ontario upbringing, Parr's songs challenge the confines of urban life with allusions to the unforgiving Canadian wilderness -- and the beautiful and dangerous creatures that inhabit it. The band’s debut EP, Wolves, was recorded by legendary Canadian producer Ian Blurton (Weakerthans, C’mon, Blurtonia) and released on May 10, 2019. The band also released their second EP, Anchors, which was recorded by Alex Gamble (Rheostatics, Alvvays), in July 2020. Both EPs are available on all streaming platforms. Their third EP is scheduled to be released over the summer of 2022.

Meredith Moon

Meredith Moon has been described as a gem among the old-time music scene for her unusual use of the banjo, combining influences of folk-punk with traditional Appalachian sound. Besides playing traditional tunes in an often non-traditional style, she also pens her own unique style of songs in a true storyteller's fashion. Along with a powerful voice, she is a multi-instrumentalist, incorporating finger-style guitar, mandolin, lap dulcimer, piano and foot percussion into her performances. Along with a recent endorsement from Gold Tone Music Group, Meredith Moon has been a regular in the Folk Festival circuit for almost a decade. In the last six years, she has toured Canada, Mexico, Central America, the UK and Europe. She released her first full length album "Forest Far Away" in May of 2018, and will be *rereleasing her second album, "Starcrossed", in spring of 2022.
